Inspired by various small & quaint towns lining the edges of Lake Ontario in Upstate New York, Schmuck Harbor is a fictional town located along this same lake’s rocky shores. As its title suggests, this town is filled with all different kinds of schmucks who create all different kinds of chaos!
This is a cartoon i’ve gradually been developing over the past couple of years. Currently, this series is structured as multiple different spin-offs – each taking place in the same town. various doodles, comics, and more can be accessed from the buttons below!
Captain Bair
The Captain (mayor) of Schmuck Harbor, and a proud & patriotic Navy veteran with strong southern roots. Lives aboard his ship, the S.S. Law ‘n’ Disorder (a.k.a. the town hall) with his beloved crew. Being the town’s mayor and sole law enforcer, this goofy and extroverted grizzly with a heart of gold and a deep love for fish strives to keep the place sailing as smoothly as possible, and gets along well with pretty much everybody in town.
Swabby
Swabby -er, “Commander Swabby”, is a feisty, reckless pirate rat that lives aboard Captain Bair’s ship with his own little rat crew, who often help out around the ship. He adores causing chaos (among other pirate-y things), and would fire the ship’s cannons at free will if he had the proper authority (and if he wasn’t only 3′ tall.) He dreams about one day becoming a fully independent pirate – with his own ship and all – but the S.S. Law ‘n’ Disorder comes in at a pretty close second.
Harpy
A pompous and irritable bird with a French accent who lives on the crow’s nest of the S.S. Law ‘n’ Disorder. Being the town’s most passionate chef, he often cooks meals for the ship’s crew – preferably ones that fit his upscale tastes. Despite his snooty and slightly arrogant nature (and him and Swabby’s constant bickering), he cares a lot about the town and his fellow crew mates, even if he doesn’t like to admit it too often.
Milo
A 4′ tall lemon shark, and the head honcho of the Alley Sharks mob, which resides in a dark, dead end ocean-themed alley in the middle of town. extremely irritable, and thinks quite highly of himself. Despite his rough-and-tough demeanor, though, he usually fails to execute any of his plans due his own impulsiveness, and his not-so-bright henchmen, who often drive him up the wall, but whom he’s also secretly quite fond of.
Luna
A 4′ tall blue whale, and one of Milo’s henchmen. Arguably the brightest of the three – very sweet, and kind-hearted deep down, but may sometimes be called out for having her head in the clouds. She doesn’t take her boss or his schemes all that seriously given how often they fail, and is usually always on something.
Harry
A 4′ tall hammerhead shark, and another one of Milo’s henchmen. He has a very kind heart, and wishes to make the world a better place – and genuinely believes that’s what his boss wants too. He wishes to help the boss out in any way possible to achieve this, though he’s not exactly the brightest. If a scheme tends to fail, it’s typically because this guy was involved somehow.
